Please be advised that the Township of Lacey Tax Sale for 2014
delinquencies is scheduled for January 16, 2015. The 2014 Tax Sale will be an Electronic Tax Sale.
All payments received after November 26, 2014 must be in the form of Cash,
Certified Check, or Money Order and include Cost of Sale.
Commencing Wednesday, November 11, 2014, in accordance with State
Law, Credit Cards or E Checks may not be utilized for 2014
delinquencies
The Tax Collector’s office is located at 818 West Lacey Rd. in Forked River on the second floor. The hours of operation are 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday. We can be contacted by phone at 609-693-1100 ext.2210 or by email at lacey.taxcollector@laceytownship.org
The Tax Collector is responsible for the billing, collection, reporting and enforcement of municipal taxes for the Township of Lacey. The tax bills are mailed in July and the first payment is due August 1.
Property taxes are due on February 1, May 1, August 1, and November 1. Failure to receive a tax bill does not exempt you from paying taxes or the interest due on delinquent taxes. The Township does permit a 10 day grace period. The State of New Jersey does not permit postmark, taxes must be received in the office on or before the 10th however, if the 10th falls on a weekend or legal holiday, you have until the next business day to make payment. All payments may be made by cash, check, or money order. Credit card payment will be accepted until November 15th on current year taxes.
As a statutory officer of the State of New Jersey, the Tax Collector is obligated to follow all the State Statutes regarding property tax collection including billing, due dates, interest on delinquent tax payments and tax sale procedures. Sharon Sulecki is licensed by the State of New Jersey as a Certified Tax Collector. Bills may be paid in full by adding the amounts on the four numbered stubs. This covers the last half of the current year and the first half of the following year. Visa, MasterCard, Discover Cards are accepted.

We have installed a drop-box (black box), located in front of the building next to the US Post Office mailbox for Township payments or correspondence for your convenience after hours. For payments to be credited the same day it must be in the drop box no later than 4:00PM of that business day.
Any open balance as of December 31st of the current year is subject to tax sale. The tax sale list will be available on this web site as well as advertised in the legal section of the Times-Beacon (a Gannett publication) a weekly paper available on Thursdays.
