Rental of the Charles A. Smith Community Center

The Charles A. Smith Community Center, located at 15 East Lacey Road, Forked River is available to rent for private parties to its residents on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays. The Community Center is available on Friday evenings from 5:00 pm until midnight and on Saturdays and Sundays for two time slots: 7:00 am to 5:00 pm or 5:00 pm to midnight.  The Ballroom holds a maximum of 250 guests with EXCLUSIVE use of the kitchen facilities.  The Card Room holds a maximum of 50 guests and has NO use of the kitchen facilities.

  • Provided: (7) small round tables and 50 chairs 
    

To see if a date is available you can call the clerk's office at 609-693-1100, ext 2200.  The dates book up quickly, we suggest you try and book your event at least 6 months in advance.  Payments can be made by cash, money order or personal check from the Township resident.  Payment in full must be made within one week of reserving a date.

Rental of Township Parks

The Township rents out the pavilion/picnic areas of their parks for use by our residents. In order to rent the park you must be a resident of Lacey Township. The parks available for rental are Hebrew Park on South Street (covered pavilion) and Gille Park on Manchester Avenue (covered 5,000 sq. ft. pavilion). The cost to rent the pavilion/picnic area of the park at Gille or Hebrew is $100.00 rental fee + $100.00 deposit.  The deposit is refunded if the park is left in a good clean manner. A permit is required for use of the pavilion/picnic area. The weekends do book up quickly during the warmer months so planning in advance is suggested. To reserve a date please call the Clerk’s office at 609-693-1100, ext 2200. The office begins taking reservations for the parks beginning January 2nd of each year. Payments can be made by cash, money order or personal check from the Township resident. Payment in full must be made within two weeks of reserving a date. Persons utilizing the pavilion/picnic area without a permit do so at their own risk, as priority is given to any resident holding a permit for that date. The township only rents to one party per day.   

Cancellations:  In order to receive the rental fee back due to cancellation, we must be notified within 72 hours of the event. Rental fees are not refunded due to inclement weather for park rentals. 

Deposit monies are refunded by resolution of the governing body at the township meeting following your event.   All refunds are mailed out the Friday following the meeting.
