Per AOC rules, audio and video recording of the proceedings are strictly prohibited.  If you would like a copy of the proceeding, please contact the court office.

DAY OF COURT: (In Person)

Upon completion before the Judge, you are to immediately present to the court's violation's window to complete any and all paperwork and make payment for any assessments imposed.

DAY OF COURT: (Virtual)

  • Log into the court session at least 15 minutes prior to your scheduled time.  This will allow you the opportunity to resolve any technical issues.  Remember to click yes when you get a message from your electronic device asking for permission to access your camera and microphone.   
  • You will be able to speak privately with the Municipal Prosecutor during the court session.
  • You are required to watch the “Official Municipal Court Opening Statement” . You can watch this at any time before your court session, but it will also be played in the live court session on the day of your appearance.  
  • After you are admitted into the main room, your microphone will be muted and remain muted until your case is called. When called, you may unmute your microphone.  
  • An explanation of the process will be given to all participants by the Court Moderator.
  • Breakout Room:  you must accept the invite on your device, there you will speak to the prosecutor.  NOTE:  The prosecutor will be speaking to everyone scheduled for court so you may be waiting for a while.  When you are done, leave the breakout room not the meeting.

WHAT TO DO AFTER YOUR (VIRTUAL) COURT APPEARANCE:

Defendants may make payments for ALL Time Payment Orders, Parking Offenses, Traffic Matters and Municipal Complaint Matters through the municipal court’s online payment website at: NJMCdirect.com.  Payments will also continue to be accepted at the court payment window or by mail.

Keys to a successful Zoom Virtual Court Appearance:

  • Set up in a closed room with no noise or other people
  • Connect to the meeting using your real first and last name on the display so the court staff know you are ready with your case
  • Be sure to allow any connections to audio and video by “Zoom.”     
  • Dress Appropriately

There are multiple ways of joining a virtual court sessions, each with different requirements:

  • PC/Mac Laptop or desktop – Will require a browser which will run Zoom Meeting. A microphone and video camera are required
  • Smart Phone – Install a Zoom App and allow access to your camera and microphone
  • Call in – You can dial into the proceeding and appear by phone ** Call Court Office for Instructions
